Alba Payroll Services (Pty) Ltd was established in 1999 when Brenda McCallum, the company’s director, was approached by an audit company in need of a reliable payroll service for their clients. Brenda, originally from Scotland, moved to South Africa in 1975.
While raising young children, she worked part-time in accounting and sales positions until 1978, when she joined the SA Permanent Building Society full-time.
In 1982, after moving to a new town, Brenda was hired by an American construction company.
Shortly thereafter, she was asked to manage the company’s payroll function, handling weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and expatriate payrolls.
When the company relocated overseas in 1999, Brenda seized the opportunity presented by the audit company and founded Alba Payroll Services (Pty) Ltd.
Today, Alba employs three additional payroll administration personnel and manages over 100 payrolls on a monthly, weekly, and bi-weekly basis.
Laura Sanderson has been with the company since 2000 as a General Manager and Tax Practitioner, and Nicky Van Der Bank was hired in 2005 as a Senior payroll administrator.
Bongekile Rooiland was Hired in November 2023 as a Junior payroll administrator.
